Ed Gibson was a member of the Role-Playing Group Association (RPGA) who both played in and authored material for the Living City organized play program during the 1990s. Among his known player-characters were Alexis Vandree, Alydar,[1][2] and Rebekkah Darklyte.[3] He was part of the network clubs Beyond[4] and later PGCO,[5] and was the RPGA's regional director for Ohio[6] until 1999.[7]
History[]
Around 1993, the RPGA Network held a year long contest with many events called Decathalon. One of these events, Item Creation,[8] Ed Gibson participated in. He submitted a magic item called courtesan's cream.[4] His submission was considered to be among the best entries and was later featured alongside other submissions in Magnificent Magic: Serious and Whimsical Items From Network Clubs in Polyhedron #82.[4][8]
In 1994, Ed Gibson made an appearance at that year's Origins Game Fair in San Jose, California and the Gen Con Game Fair in Milwaukee. At the former he helped out in running the Chemcheaux magic shop, while at the latter he was one of many shopkeepers in the interactive Living City Bazaar.[9]
In 1999, Ed Gibson retired from being the RPGA Network's regional director for Ohio.[7]
