Eltorchul Villa was the family estate of the Waterdhavian noble house Eltorchul[1][2] and the home of the Eltorchul Academy.[7]
Location[]
The Eltorchul Villa was located in the Sea Ward of Waterdeep,[1][2][3][4][5][6] situated on the southwest corner of Diamond Street and Ivory Street, and enclosed from behind by Pharra's Alley and Torch Lane. Along Ivory Street, it stood across from the Gauntyl Villa.[3][4][5][6]
Structure[]
This building complex consisted of two high-quality buildings, one that was three stories tall and another that stood a single story tall,[1][2] one being the mansion proper and the other a guesthouse. Like many Waterdhavian villas, it was a walled estate featuring a landscaped garden.[8][note 1]
Interior[]
One of the buildings of this estate housed a quite impressive library with a great deal of magical information, rivaled only by those of Maskar Wands and Khelben Arunsun.[9]
History[]
In the early 14th century DR, inheriting the fortune his family had garnered over the years through imports and spices, Lord Thesp Eltorchul began to run a school for magic out of this family villa entitled Eltorchul Academy.[7]
