Farid encountered an Al-Badia named Jamal al-Karim who he believed insulted him. Farid ended up killing Jamal and incurring the wrath of Jamal's tribe, the House of Al-Karim, in the form of a blood feud.[1]

Farid adoptive dwarven son was Umar bin Farid.[2]
