Fatima bint Waleed was a Zakharan pragmatist inhabiting Hiyal in Zakhara around 1367 DR.[note 1][1]

Fatima was the niece of a wealthy merchant in Hiyal named Farid who slew a desert rider for an insult. She feared her uncle's act would start a blood feud with the desert rider's tribe.[1]

Fatima wore studded leather armor and wielded a mace.[1]
