Firespiders creates 240 tiny fire elementals in form of small burning spiders.[1]
History
Thousands of years ago drow used this spell to set afire large parts of what is now the Border Forest and separated it from Cormanthor.[2]
Effects
The spell creates a swarm of spiders which search the area for something or someone to attack and ignite. The elementals are immune to fire but vulnerable to water or other nonflammable liquids. They will not die after the attack. Instead they will stay until they are slain or banished or the spell expires.[1]
Material components
The caster needs rubys or ruby dust worth at least 500gp. The spell needs also a somatic and vocal component.[1]
Spellcasting Traditions
- In the Rashemen spellcasting tradition of the vremyonni the material component for this spell is a pinch of sulfur.[3]
