Featured sources on the Forgotten Realms Wiki[]

Featured sources are the most complete articles about sources throughout the Forgotten Realms Wiki. This includes sources such as sourcebooks, adventures, novels, video games, card games, board games, magazines, etc. For the criteria discussion, please see this thread. Featured Sources were first introduced in 2013, but had no criteria for what qualified as featured. The sources that were approved at that time are no longer up to the standard of excellence this wiki provides. Thus, this policy introduces and formalizes what is needed to become qualified as a featured source. At present, there are 8 featured sources on the wiki.

Qualifications[]

A featured source must meet the following criteria:

Lead Paragraph & Blurb
  • Lead paragraph must include significance of the work, which may be a super-quick summary of key events. The blurb itself is not enough.
  • The blurb comes second, is a wiki-linked quote, and does not need a section heading.
Complete Infobox
  • Must include cover art with caption, if available.
Formatted
Nearly Complete
  • Includes a full summary and/or synopsis. (See below.)
  • Includes a full and complete index. (See below.)
Summary/Synopsis
  • A Summary section is a short overview.
  • A Synopsis section is a detailed plot overview.
  • Do not hide spoilers.
  • There may be alternative headers, such as Campaigns or Gameplay, that may better work for a given source.
Index/Table of Contents
  • Do not need to use the optional {{P}} template.
  • Should have minimal red links (no red links highly recommended).
Credits
  • Optional but encouraged.
Policy-adherent/Demonstrative
  • Shows off various features of the wiki.

Approval Process[]

Before submitting a source article for featured status, please check that it meets each and every criterion as listed above. To nominate a source article for featured source status, add it to the list at Official Nominated Featured Sources using the provided template on that page.

Interested users should leave their vote by including their signature (~~~~) in the appropriate field (For or Against) for that nominee and update the Vote field accordingly.

A source article that reaches at least 3 votes in favor, including one administrator vote, will be promoted to featured source status. When approved, please add it to the Featured Sources queue template and assign the featured source the FS template, which will create the following banner:
