Where appropriate, the wiki will use the Wikipedia naming conventions, with some additions. Where no precedent exists, the article should be named in a manner in keeping with the source material. If two or more possibilities exist in the source material, the newest should take priority.
Magic items[]
The names of magic items should be italicized (as though they were book titles) and should be all lower case, with two exceptions: when the item name includes a proper noun, in which case the first letter of that word is capitalized; or when the item is an artifact, in which case all nouns are typically capitalized. For example:
- amulet of the planes, not amulet of the planes (italics)
- bracers of defense, not Bracers of Defense (lower case)
- apparatus of Kwalish, not apparatus of kwalish (proper noun)
- Eye of Vecna, not eye of Vecna (artifact)
Prestige classes[]
Prestige classes should be written in lower case, except where proper nouns are involved. For example, arcane trickster or Harper agent.
Spells[]
Spell names should be italicized (as though they were book titles) and should be all lower case, except when a proper noun means that the first letter of the word is capitalized. For example:
- fireball, not fireball (italics)
- animate rope, not Animate Rope (lower case)
- Mordenkainen's sword, not mordenkainen's sword (proper noun)
