Announcing the Year of Monsters Mega Project!

The scope of the year long multi-editor project is to add creatures that are canon and missing from the wiki. It will also expand on creature stubs and add any missing images.

The project is located here. You will find the project's guidelines and lists of monsters. Each list is sorted by edition then source. If you notice a missing monster from a list or an error, please make the appropriate edits.

All editors are welcome to join this project!

This project is similar to last year's Year of Magic. Thanks to all contributions we added 1,000 missing spells and dozens of missing magical items to the wiki!

Does this mean I have permission to add all of the Dragonspawn varieties? Although that will have to wait until I'm through with the celestials and fiends...

Well, I could do some monsters (or at least some I needed to do anyway, ahem). Do you want us to add lists of monsters that need to be added from each sourcebook?

The project page has a bunch of lists from the books, but I have not added them all yet.

Cool project! Just out of interest, do you plan on adding lists for Dragon (magazine) or the 2e Monstrous Manual (both of which would be more work than others...)?

Please make sure that infoboxes for creatures are filled in properly. I have spent countless hours standardizing these for creatures across the entire wiki, and this project makes me fear that I am going to have to go behind everyone and clean-up infobox fields that are not properly filled in. Everyone who wishes to contribute to this, please ensure that you understand the purpose of each field and appropriate values. Please make sure that only official types and subtypes are used. Please make sure to include alignment frequency for 3e alignments. Please do not add categories unless you are confident that they actually need to be added and are not automatic. Thanks!
