Forums: Helping Hand > Calendar for Date Pages

Use the following template for a nicely presented post:

{{Forum post|Write your message here!|~~~~}}

I would like to put a sort of navbox on every date page (such as Hammer 1) that we have, so that I can click through/jump around the calendar easily. Here's what I came up with:

There is one for every month of the year.

As you can see, the holidays are correctly included between the months. I would like for these to be roughly infobox-width and right-justified within their articles. I'd also like them to use a vertical scroll, similar to {{Roll of years}} but vertical instead. Movie, can you edit {{Calendar}} to make my dreams come true?

Hmmm....I could easily do it in a {{Border box}}, but a vertical scroll might be a challenge. I'll look into it. I'm a little worried that this will mess up the {{On this day}} template that supplies trivia to the Main Page (I presume you want this to be in that section on each calendar page), but there is probably a way around that too.

It won't mess things up; some pages already have other content. See, for example, Shieldmeet. As long as there is an "On This Day" section, and we don't mess that up, the pages will work.

I have confidence in your vertical-scroll-making abilities. :)

The other content is fine, but anything placed inside the On This Day section gets pulled in by the template and has to be filtered down to what you see on the Main Page. Since many of the date pages only have an On This Day section, the new navigation box will be in there and will need to be filtered out. A box like the Glossary on Delzimmer or Khôltar would not currently get filtered, but I believe a template call like {{Border box}} would, so I think we're good.

Right. It wouldn't ever need to go in the "On This Day" section. It would go in the lead section, just like other templates, such as {{Datepage}} do. No page has only an "On This Day" section. I also just tested it to make sure on Ches 20, which is "today".

I think it looks better in the On This Day section :) And your alignment change seems to have messed up this forum page :-/ Hopefully I'll have time to look at it today...surely by the weekend.

"I think it looks better in the On This Day section :)"

…not after you work your CSS magic. :)

"And your alignment change seems to have messed up this forum page :-/"

It just needed clears; fixed now; sorry.

I see your testing posts. It looks perfect! Great work, as always!

It's all done but the tweaking. Checkout Ches 20 and Flamerule 1 for two examples. I like the positioning on Flamerule 1 better, but see what the community thinks. Seems to work in Monobook too :)

It looks great for me!

I like how it looks on Ches 20 better than Flamerule 1- but both are nice.

Is anyone else seeing this misalignment of the background scroll images on Ches 20? I want to know if it's just my stupid browser or if it shows up for everyone. I don't want to fix it for me and have it break for everyone else. EDIT: I see it in Firefox on Linux, but do not see it using IE on Windows 7. I'll check other browsers when I get home.
Scroll bug

Yes, I see the misalignment, but it was so slight that I did not notice until you pointed it out.
