Hi I'm making a D&D campaign beginning in 999 DR, what should I have in mind? The first thing I thought of is taking the events of the Spellplague and reversing them, can you point out the major differences with the 14th century for a start?

Although everything depends on where your campaign takes place, there are some things to do. Find that place and some other near it and read the related articles for historical information or things that happened. These will give you more than a clue, but afterwards you may want to find a source that says things about that place and read it next. Afterwards check also a time span of some previous years e.g. 990 DR to some afterwards 1010 DR. However, generally keep in mind that around 999 DR FR weren't THAT different from e.g. 1357 DR, maybe quite more wild (more monsters in numbers, a bit fewer organazations, merchants or mercenary bands) and not that explored, depending on the place. That's my opinion thought...
