I have noticed more and more images going up on the wiki recently and the vast majority of them are just uploaded with no comment, no source, no copyright status or anything. I am very concerned that copyrighted images that do not fall under fair use are being uploaded and that this could pose a problem for the wiki. How would everyone feel if we started simply deleting these images outright, unless the necessary information was also provided?

If the images aren't used in any articles, I say delete away!

As a general policy for all new images, I think it's good. If the image is already in use and it was uploaded by someone with an account, then I think it would be helpful to first leave a message on that person's Talk page, assuming that we feel it isn't too much work. If the image is one that appears to be from WotC's promotional art gallery (and there are a lot of those now), then it might not be a big deal for them to correct. I agree with you though that it's important to be compliant with copyright policy.
