Editing Forum:Inhabitants categories

On the request of [[User:Ruf67|Ruf]], I am opening this up to the entire ''Forgotten Realms Wiki'' community. For a while now I have been creating specific Inhabitant categories, such as [[:Category:Inhabitants of the Stonehill Inn]], which show the individuals who live and most frequent these establishments. For example, [[Toblen Stonehill]] works and lives at [[Stonehill Inn]], but [[Elsa]] is a barmaid there and [[Narm]] is a farmer who drinks there often.  I just want to make sure everyone is okay with these specific categories instead of a bunch of NPCs being just in the [[:Category:Inhabitants of Phandalin]]. Thanks for your input :)

|Hey Darkwynters. I've been actively tracking your changes, as I've made many articles about the characters and locations found in the ''[[Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set]]''. Thanks for updating them! I agree with categorizing certain NPCs as inhabitants of where they are found, particularly if they can hold them, such as a sizeable building or an area, town, city, region, continent, planet etc. I do this already for inhabitants of taverns, such as [[Ilmryn Despana]], who I class as being an inhabitant of the [[Ust Natha tavern]] (he always seems to be found here).

However, there is something I'm not so sure of. For an example of this, there is a [[Shrine of Luck|small monument to Tymora]] in [[Phandalin]], and an NPC known as [[Garaele|Sister Garaele]] who looks after this. Though she is found here sometimes, I wouldn't say this is her home [[https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/index.php?title=Garaele&diff=535811&oldid=504310 see the change you made to the infobox]], when in fact it isn't. She has a home nearby, as is labelled on the map of Phandalin, which is in the campaign book. I don't think it is helpful to state that the Shrine of Luck is her home, even if she is found here a lot, but I'm not against saying she is an inhabitant of the shrine. I don't really have a strong opinion on this latter part. :)

|I've been doing this for years with individuals. Always made sense to be specific with locations of individuals within a city versus only tagging someone as living in the city.

I am mainly just copying my reply from the original discussion:

: I have observed the way that [[User:Darkwynters|Darkwynters]] and [[User:Moviesign|Moviesign]] do it—and in fact, I think that that is how the majority of editors have done it. However, I have usually done it the way that [[User:Ruf67|Ruf]] does, because to me, "inhabitant" is someone who lives somewhere, and people do not always live in their shops. The category is not "People who hang out in..." or "People who work in...", it is "Inhabitants of..." Although I am guessing that perhaps the majority of shopkeepers indeed do live in the same buildings as their shops in the Realms, I think that that is an assumption, and I do not like to assume.

In response to Priest's comment here, I agree. To me "home" is where someone "inhabits", not where someone hangs out or frequents.
