Some of you may have already noticed an anonymous user adding the Category:Flying creatures category to many creature pages.
I actually thing that this is a great idea. Furthermore, I'd like to expand it for other movement types.
Here is my proposal:
- Add a
movement
param to the {{Creature}} infobox.- The valid options would be:
- Flying (or Flight)
- Burrowing
- Climbing
- Swimming
- We'd assume that Walking is understood.
- The valid options would be:
- Auto-generate the following categories:
- Flying creatures
- Burrowing creatures
- Climbing creatures
- Swimming creatures
- Each of those categories will have Category:Creatures by movement type as a parent.
I think this could be a very useful tool for DMs planning campaigns.
Thoughts? Anything to tweak?
As the ex-anonymous user I totally agree with the proposition.
I just have one question regarding the swimming category, will it concerns : - all swimming races, including humans for exemple ? - all creatures breathing and swimming underwater, excluding humans ? If so, this catogry may be close to the one called aquatic creatures. As I also though it would be a good idea to have a specific category for underdark creatures, I'm asking why the creatures found in cave and underdark is a unique categeory. Why not two : one for underdark and another one for cave creatures.I knwo overlaps can exist but I think it is two different kind of environment.
