Coming September 18th, Timeless, by R.A. Salvatore is due to be released according to several sources. I know Bob's been waiting to tell this story since before he wrote The Neverwinter Saga - that of Jarlaxle and Zaknafein - except this one will be written in the modern day Realms instead of the past, like he originally intended, while Drizzt, apparently, is being trained by Grandmaster Kane.

That is awesome. Glad to see the Realms novels making a comeback.

This has been corrected by Mike Furman, admin of the Forgotten Realms Archives group on Facebook:

After talking with R.A. Salvatore himself today we can say that as of now there is NOT a new Drizzt novel being released.

Bob has said himself that the reason we are seeing the information online is because this is a "placeholder...," that has "...been put up a dozen times before for me (even in negotiations, a publisher will often slot a potential book)"

While this information is still a very interesting development, we have to let everyone know the truth of it, that as of right now a new Drizzt novel is NOT a done deal.

Thanks everyone, feel free to share this information is your channels to help put out any fires.

It seems to be real after all, just accidentally posted to publisher catalogs too soon. Nerdist has the exclusive reveal, it seems.

Oops. That did seem to be a weak explanation. :) Thanks for making the Timeless article. I've added it to {{Latest releases}}, so we can also be there with the news. :)
