Ed Greenwood posted a comment on his Facebook Page on September 11 2010 at approximately 9pm GMT that Atari are developing a new Neverwinter Nights game that will also be available on consoles. Begin the hype!
The digging I've done indicates Cryptic Studios are developing it into a 4e MMO called Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter. Cryptic are of course the devs reponsible for City of Heroes & Star Trek Online.
City of Heroes went down quite well, but I can't see the Star Trek one lasting too long. The most enjoyable Realms-based games for me were those done by Bioware. By the time we got to Neverwinter Nights 2 (which was by Obsidian, who in turn were partly comprised of Black Isle employees) it had gone downhill a bit.
Let's say I'm intrigued at this stage, rather than excited!
