In the last days i've had some problems with the search, seems it only returns the currect page on an exact search entry.
Working:
Black Dragon -> returns the page as first result
The following returns vaguely related\unrelated pages:
Dragon Black
Adult Black Dragon
urshula black dragon (should return urshula page first and black dragon second i guess)
Urshula page is called Kazmil-urshula-kelloakizilian.
Searching:
Kazmil-urshula-kelloakizilian -> ok
urshula -> ok (why??)
Kazmil -> no result
kelloakizilian -> no result
If i only knew the name Kazmil, i would never have reached the page this way.
Is this a bug or what?Basically, it only reliably searches the page title and the exact phrase you give it, so you more or less have to know the exact name, or use some specific searching tools. For example, 'dragon AND black' will produce black dragon as the first result. If you want to know more, see [1].
Otherwise, you could go to related pages and find links or run through categories like Category:Black dragons.
Or you can use a regular search engine, which will inevitably find the page on the wiki (Wikia is better at search engine optimization than it is at search engines). However, even Google won't find "Kazmil-urshula-kelloakizil" and you'd have to add "forgotten" and "realms" or other supporting information to help it.
I've reached the wikia fandom forums and found i'm not the only one experiencing this problem. On a note, this started happening just a couple days ago, so i think this is caused by some low-end code modifications from wikia.
I'm sending a bug report, i'll post it here when and if i got a response.
Anyway i opened a ticket to wikia, and i was responded that the search engine is not indexing correctly as it should.
