Use the following template for a nicely presented post:

I am 23dutch45man and an administrator of the Baldur's Gate wikia. Recently I have been playing Icewind Dale I and I would like to create a wikia about Icewind Dale I and II. I have experience running a wikia, but I dont have much experience about starting a wikia and much free time to develop it. Making a wikia which is going to be abondoned after a while is not in my interest and probably not for the community as well. That's why I am looking for at least 5 or 10 volunteers! If you are interested, please head go the Baldur's Gate wikia forum

Here is the link to the forum where it can be discussed and get more information, until the wikia is created:

To BadCatMan, Darkwynters and other administrators/bureaucrats of this wiki of this wikia. If the Icewind Dale wikia is created, could this new wikia also use the interlink template just like the Baldur's Gate wikia?

Sorry, I don't have any experience starting a wiki either. And I also don't have any of the games on my wiki horizon. I haven't even finished IWD 2. I find it very difficult to divide my focus between two wikis; inevitably, FRW took over for me. :)

I think I mentioned this before, but you could consider putting the Icewind Dale games under the purview of Baldur's Gate Wiki. The games have the same engine, design, rule-sets, game-play, many identical items, and related designers and publishers. That way, you'd get to re-use the BGW's set up, design, pages, categories, and templates, with no extra effort in setting up a new wiki. You can focus your attention on the one wiki, getting more done. Plus, it would also boost the size of the BGW, with higher page-count and more editors, with some overlap, which would boost the BGW's rankings.

Yes, I could make a new interwiki link template.

I have created a new wiki for Icewind Dale, because I think it would be to complicated to have content from both game series on one wiki. Another complicating factor is that Icewind Dale II is closer to the rules of the third edition of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons rulebook than Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal and the enhanced version of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II will be. And probably, the enhanced editions of the Icewind Dale games will probably be based on pick the second or the third edition of the rulebook.

Also, does anyone know how to edit the dungeons and dragons footer on the bottom of the front page so that it gives a link to the Icewind Dale wikia as well?

BadManCat, considering the interwiki template, I have already made a template for that on the Baldur's Gate wiki which you copy-paste to your wikia.

I think to change the contents of the footer at the bottom of the page you will have to go Requests and ask them to add your wiki(s) to the "dndfooter" template. Your wiki might have to meet the criteria listed on that page...then you make a post to the talk page like it says in the instructions at the end. Maybe someone with experience can give a better answer. Good luck!

Congratulations on your bouncing baby wiki. :D

The dndfooter can be found here, w:Template:dndfooter. Fortunately, I can edit it. I've gone and added the Icewind Dale Wiki for you.

Thanks. I'll use it to create another interwiki template for us for IWDW, and when I have a chance I'll use the bot to add it to a bunch of IWD game-related pages like I did with the BG game pages.
