Just curious. Which do you use/prefer, Wikia or Monobook?

I myself use monobook with some custom css (I made it so the content background is the same colour as the Candlekeep forum content background, this http://www.color-hex.com/color/ffffe0). I like using Monobook as I find it easier to make edits and add content. I also find it easier on the eyes.

I switch to wikia when I'm on my tablet or when I need to work on something involving adding lots of categories. That's the only thing I like about the Wikia layout, the auto-filling of cats.

I use MonoBook. I find all of Wikia's attempted skins over the years absolutely abhorrent, both as an editor and a reader. That being said, it can be useful to check articles in the Wikia skin, to ensure things like image placement or templates look nice for the majority of visitors.

Ha yea I learned the hard way that I need to do that as well...infoboxes and content/image placement would look great on monobook, but not so much on the Wikia skin. I keep that in mind now when making changes.

I use the Wikia skin because that's what most viewers will see when they visit, so I tend to design pages to that style. I keep the Monobook and Mobile links in my tool bar (another reason I like the Wikia skin, I use the tool bar all the time) so I can check layout issues on occasion.

Monobook 4 Life. :) For one, it's what I started with and I'm just so used to it. Moreover, it's just cleaner: tidier format, less junk. It looks crisper and loads faster on my old computer. And there's no ads! I only occasionally check in on Wikia/Oasis, unfortunately, so I'm just not up on additions and changes or layout issues there.
