Frethian was a black cat inhabiting the city of Waterdeep as of the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR.[1]

Frethian was the familiar of the powerful wizard Maaril the Dragon Mage. The cat lived with Maaril within the Dragon Tower in the Sea Ward of Waterdeep.[1]
