Fringe Philosophy was a compendium of magic theories that were deemed too unconventional for mainstream publication. Numeroues personalities from across the Realms contributed entries to its numerous volumes.[1]

Volume V[]
One entry in the 5th volume of Fringe Philosophies was attributed to the Gondar High Artificer Thaura Brinn of Baldur's Gate. Brinn postulated that the earthmotes of the Realms were created from residual magic associated with the enclaves of ancient Netheril. She argued that despite Netheril's ties with the dark goddess Shar, their legacy of flying cities still deserved to be studied, regardless of the consequences.[1]

As of the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR, a copy of this book could be found in the library of the Emerald Grove on the Sword Coast.[1]
