Funada Toyoo was the administrator of Nakamaru around 1357 DR.[2]

Often his brother the daimyo Funada Mitsuhide was in Uwaji in attendance to the shogun and during these times was Toyoo that run the city. The two brothers were currently feuding over the next daimyo of Nakamaru, if will be son of Mistuhide of son of Toyoo. Mistuhide was trying to discreetly remove Toyoo from his position of administrator of the town[2]

Toyoo was more sly than Mitsuhide and lack his patience, preferring a swift and decisive victory even if at extreme cost.[1]
