Galltrits were a winged species of gremlin.[1][2]
Description[]
Galltrits on average grew to be 0.5′0″‒0′6″ (0.15‒0.15 m) tall. Their bodies had stony grey skin. They were often very hard to detect.[1][2]
Personality[]
Galltrits had an average level of intelligence. They had nasty dispositions[1][2] and would often attack if disturbed.[2] If caught feeding by their prey, they would try to make a hasty retreat.[1][2]
Biology[]
Much like a vampire bat,[1] the saliva of these creatures possessed both an anesthetic and anti-coagulant properties. This made it so that the nerves and skin around where a galltrit bit became temporarily deadened,[2] preventing their victim from feeling anything,[1] and prolonging the period of bleeding. They would then suck blood from their victim until either full or detected.[1][2]
History[]
In 1357 DR, galltrits could occasionally be found in the sewers beneath Waterdeep.[3] And following its destruction, they could be found in the ruins of Zhentil Keep.[4]
Society[]
Much like the standard gremlin, galltrits traveled in packs.[1] Some were known to carry around gems.[2]
Diet[]
Galltrits primarily subsisted upon blood.[1]
Homelands[]
Galltrits could be found in a variety of habitats and climates.[1] However, they primarily lived in areas of carrion, dung, and offal.[1][2]
