Glendar was a wizard,[2] specifically an archmage,[1] and later lich.[2][1]
Personality[]
Glendar was known to be a rather good and noble man in life.[1] But he had a hatred for basilisks and medusae.[2]
Activities[]
Glendar spent much of his life serving as a patron for adventurers.[2]
History[]
The wizard's hatred of basilisks and medusae led him to develop the rod of mirrors,[2] also known as a wand of magical mirrors, and went on to create twenty of them.[1]
Later in life Glendar turned towards evil and became a lich.[2][1] He was ultimately destroyed by some of the adventurers he had formerly sponsored.[2]
His rods of mirrors continued to survive across the Realms following his destruction, falling into treasure caches or coming into the possession of powerful wizards.[1] By 1372 DR, the means of creating a rod of mirrors had been rediscovered and it was quite well known of in the Realms.[2]
