Grinda Garloth was a mad treasure hunter in Waterdeep during the early 1490s DR.[1]
Activities[]
Grinda lived and worked in her laboratory in Mistshore. With her apparatus of Kwalish, she searched for treasures in the Deepwater Harbor.[2]
History[]
In 1492 DR,[note 1] Grinda had conflicts with the awakened shark Obliteros.[2]
If the Xanathar managed to obtain the Stone of Golorr, he entrusted the Stone to Grinda.[3] She agreed to take custody of the Stone but changed her mind and decided to use it for herself, ordering her familiar to hide it. Grinda was later besieged by Xanathar's minions, who wanted the Stone back.[4]
Relationship[]
Grinda had made some business dealings with the Xanathar's Thieves' Guild. She had a rat familiar.[4] Her family had a mausoleum in the City of the Dead.[2]

Notes[]
- ↑ Canon material does not provide a year for the events described in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, but Christopher Perkins answered a question via Twitter and stated the year was 1492 DR. Corroborating this, Dragon Heist page 20 refers to events of Death Masks (set in 1491 DR) as being "last year". Unless a canon source contradicts this assertion, this wiki will use 1492 DR for events related to this sourcebook and Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage (which is referenced on pages 5 and 98 of Dragon Heist).
