The Grottoes of the Nine Sages were a series of nine caves within the Horseshoe Temple Oasis in the Quoya Desert of the Hordelands during the mid 14th century DR.[1]
History[]
Each cave was once a shrine dedicated to one of the Nine Sacred Sages of the Path—these being Chou Zhiangpen, Ta-wan, Tai Hsueh-chi, Li Chih-wu, Yao Tsung-i, P'eng Khaisan, Hung Te Ping, Hsiao Tzu-chi, and Pieh-chi. As of the Year of Shadows, 1358 DR, the caves were overrun with goblins.[1]
Description[]
A statue of each Sage stood within their respective cave, usually facing the entryway.[1]
