Hammerstaad was the Northlander capital of Norheim, situated on the island of Giantspine in the Moonshae Isles.[1][2][3][4]
Geography[]
The city was located on the southern end of the island on a natural bay just west of Northwind Strait that ran through the Norheim Isles.[1][2][3][4] A ridge of mountains came right up to the sea at the site of the city, save for a small strip of land where Northlanders beached their longships to come ashore.[5]
Government[]
Hammerstaad was the seat of power for the king of Norheim. The city was protected by the nearby fortress[6] where the king and his family lived, which was a wooden lodge built around an old fortified tower of Ffolk construction.[5]
Trade[]
Hammerstaad was a major port in the maritime trade of the Northlanders.[7]
History[]
Hammerstaad was once the site of a small Ffolk kingdom.[5][8]
In the mid–14th century DR, King Raag Hammerstaad ruled Norheim from Hammerstaad.[5]
