Hartley Lesser is an editor from California who co-wrote "The Role of Computers" column for Dragon from 1986 to 1987 with his wife[1] Pattie Lesser and was joined by their son[1] Kirk Lesser with issue #128 until 1993.[2]
Hartley wrote game reviews for several of the early computer magazines, including Byte and Nibble. He played D&D in the late 70s as a DM before coming to work with Roger E. Moore at TSR, Inc. and starting the column.[1]
After "The Role of Computers" column ended with Dragon #196, the three went on to write the "Mac Attack!" column for Mac Home Journal.[2] Hartley then helped found the Apple II magazine inCider. After that, he worked for a time for Apple and then moved on to develop video game strategy guides for Prima Publishing. Hartley and Pattie currently work as editors for Satnews Publishers, where they have been since 2006.[1]
