Harvester of Blood was Sunbright Steelshanks's longsword circa −700 DR.[1]
Description[]
The sword had a blade the length of a human arm and ended with a sharp hook. Sunbright carried his weapon in a shoulder sheath on his back.[3] Unlike most Rengarth weapons, the sword was forged from steel instead of bronze or iron.[4]
History[]
During the Shadowed Age,[5] the sword belonged to the Raven Tribe shaman Sevenhaunt, but after his death the blade was passed down to his son, Sunbright Steelshanks, by his mother, Monkberry.[6]
Appendix[]
Discrepancies[]
On page 19 of Sword Play the blade is called a "great sword", but on page 34 the sword is quoted as being a "long sword". Since the novel was published during 2nd-edition Dungeons & Dragons, it would be more likely Harvester of Blood was a longsword Steelshanks could wield two-handed. However, it is likely both terms are merely descriptive.
