A headband of intellect was a magical headband that augmented its wearer's intelligence.[1]
Description
Typical headbands of intellect were shiny and golden. Their sizes magically adjusted to fit their wearers.[2]
Powers
A creature attuned to a headband of intellect immediately became exceptionally intelligent. The power of the headband did not work if a creature was already naturally intelligent.[1]
Notable Owners
- Little One, an ogre who took a headband of intellect after killing its previous halfling owner sometime before the Year of Twelve Warnings, 1494 DR.[note 1] The new understanding brought by the item compelled the ogre to atone for the errors of his previous life. He became a resident of Candlekeep and an avid reader.[2]
Appendix
Notes
- ↑ Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus is set in 1492 DR per the "Baldur's Gate Gazetteer" section (p. 159) and a clarification from the adventure's lead writer. Baldur's Gate III, which is a direct sequel to Descent into Avernus set immediately after its events, is also set in 1492 DR. In an apparent error, pages 7 and 47 of Descent into Avernus describes certain events as occurring "fifty years" after 1444 DR (1494 DR).
