Heartwood spears were enchanted elven polearms rumored to originate from the isle of Evereska.[2]

These spears were given a powerful +4 enchantment, and it burned its targets with magical acid upon a successful strike. Additionally, heartwood spears had a solid chance of leaving their targets dazed.[2]
History[]
The first Heartwood spear was a gift from the elves of Evereska to the human nation of Aglarond in the Unapproachable East. The gift was presented following the declaration of peace between them in the Year of the Laughing Dead, 1056 DR. Since then, Heartwood spears were created by hand by master weaponsmiths. Some claimed that these weapon smiths were still working on the isle of Evereska as of the late 14th century DR.[2]
By the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR, Heartwood spears could be found in the hands of prominent individuals and master merchants of Neverwinter on the Sword Coast[2] and Elventree on the Moonsea, among other places.[1]
