Helm Dwarf-Friend was the ruler of Sundabar[4] and a member of the Council of 12 Peers,[1] and its successor, the nine-member Council of the Marches.[5]

Personality

Helm was known as a wise and fair leader.[4][6]

History

Helm first gained notoriety when he was a the war-captain of the Bloodaxe Mercenary Company, his valiant campaigns earned him popularity in Sundabar. In 1355 DR, Helm became the sixth Ruling Master of the city of Sundabar.[7][note 2]

  1. There is a discrepancy in Helm's level given in The North: Guide to the Savage Frontier Cities and Civilization. Page 55 states he is level 15, while page 56 states he is 14.
  2. In Sojourn, which takes place around 1340 DR, Helm is already the Master of Sundabar, as Dove Falconhand is waiting to have an audience with him when called to hunt Drizzt. See page 49.
