The House of the Guardian was a local temple to Helm found in the small city of Hluthvar in the Sunset Vale.[1]
Location[]
It was situated on the northern end of the city's market space.[1][3]
Structure[]
The temple resembled a well-protected, fortified keep, encircled by both a moat and an iron fence.[1]
Interior[]
The House of the Guardian's highest chamber housed the altar to Helm. This altar resembled a upturned sword that featured the Unblinking Eye of Helm set within its pommel.[1]
Activities[]
The temple's score of warrior-priests endlessly trained to keep at bay the evil forces of nearby Darkhold.[1] They were lead in their efforts by the city's mayor,[4][3] Most Vigilant Maurandyr. He was known throughout Hluthvar as a stalwart foe of the Zhentarim.[2]
Defenses[]
It was said Helm's House boasted an expansive armory complete with numerous ballistae.[1]
History[]
Circa the mid–14th century DR, local Harpers became fearful that Maurandyr would succumb to the effect's of dark magic wielded by Zhentarim mages.[1][3]
