Hrothgar was a human adventurer from Easthaven within the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale.[1]
Description[]
The soldier was a powerfully built man who wore heavy armor, like plate mail.[1]He wielded a magical axe of great power, which made him more wise and charismatic.[2]
Personality[]
Hrothgar spent many years traveling and collecting trophies from legendary beasts, such as a gorgon and a mind flayer. He was known for helping anyone in need and had found a strong place in the community of Easthaven.[1]
History[]
In Eleint, 1281 DR,[3] Hrothgar put together an expedition to travel to the aid of Kuldahar in the Spine of the World.[1]
Death[]
Hrothgar was killed when the expedition was attacked by frost giants in Kuldahar Pass.[1] He was buried in a peaceful glen outside the town of Kuldahar. His death was treated as that of a hero in gratitude of the adventurer coming to Kuldahar's aid when his home – Easthaven, was facing strife of its own.[4]
