Hull was one of the four Watchers of Candlekeep, as of the Year of the Banner, 1368 DR.[1] Serving as a guardian of the citadel's defense, he was supported in his duties by a dozen armed monks.[2]

Along with the other Watchers, Hull was armed with an enchanted rod and was given magical rings to aid in his duties.[2] He often carried antidote potions to ward off hangovers.[1]
