Inete

Inete was an acolyte of Savras active in Port Nyanzaru in Chult during the late 15^th century DR.^[1]

Possessions[]

She was decently wealthy (enough to fund an expedition into the Chultan jungle). She lived and kept her possessions at Port Nyanzaru's Temple of Savras.^[1]

Relationships[]

She was a member of Port Nyanzaru's Temple of Savras, and was given a great deal of leeway from the Temple's head, Grandfather Zitembe. She was quick to introduce new allies to her wise leader.^[1]

History[]

During the events of the death curse,^{[note 1]} Inete was plagued by troubling visions of red-robed wizards establishing a secret base in the Aldani Basin deep in the Chultan jungle. She spoke with Grandfather Zitembe about her visions, who was too busy to help her investigate but gave her permission to travel to the Aldani Basin herself. She thus sought out adventurers already planning to travel into the jungle in hopes of joining them.^[1]

The earlier date is based on the fact that Port Nyanzaru is stated to have gained independence from Amn nine years prior to the start of the adventure (p 15), which would be 1488 DR at the earliest given the city was firmly under Amnian control as of 1479 DR (as described in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, p 102). The later date is based on the presence of Volothamp Geddarm, who is promoting the in-universe Volo's Guide to Monsters during the adventure (p 24) but is stated to have concluded his promotional tour and begun a new book as of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist (see pp 5, 24), which is understood to be set in 1492 DR.
