Irlmarren had acquired a trapped crystal ball that revealed his scryings to Roeblen of Thay, and opened him to scrying by the same as well.[1]
History[]
On the day of his death in Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, Irlmarren of Tyraturos used a crystal ball he scried a man who retrieved a set of table magic devices from a tower in Halruaa. Unknown to him, the crystal ball was trapped, and allowing Roeblen, a fellow Red Wizard, to see both what he was seeing and also who was scrying. While he was busy scrying, the Simbul struck both him and Roeblen, paralyzing them and then exploding their crystal balls with enough force to behead them in the process.[1]
