Jamal al-Karim was a half-elven member of the House of Al-Karim living in the desert outside of Hiyal around 1367 DR.[note 1][1]

Jamal's encounter with a wealthy merchant named Farid quickly turned south and ended in his death at the merchant's hands, sparking a blood feud between his tribe and the merchant.[1]
Relationships[]
Jamal was the son of Aasim Karim, the leader of the tribe. His sister Alia al-Karim swore vengeance for his death.[1]
