Jarnathan was an aarakocra and one of the ten members that served on the Absolution Council, the ruling body of the Revel's End prison and the group that oversaw the fates of the prison's inmates on behalf of the Lords' Alliance, during the late 15th century DR.[2][1][note 1]

Pardon my belatedness.
— Jarnathan[2][3]

Personality[]

As an aarakocra, he was thought to be the councilor most likely to support pardoning and releasing prisoners.[2][4] He had a distinguished air.[3]

Description[]

He had brown feathers and wore red robes.[2][5]

History[]

Heroes Unite - Absolution Council

Jarnathan has his feathers ruffled.

In the late 1490s DR,[note 2] the Absolution Council—Jarnathan, Kriv Norixius, Voss Anderton, and Jil Torbo—were to meet in Revel's End to consider a pardon for Edgin Darvis and Holga Kilgore for the crimes of skulduggery and grand larceny. However, a storm delayed Jarnathan's journey so the council started without him, but Edgin kept inquiring about Jarnathan's absence, when he'd arrive, and how unfortunate it was that he'd miss out on his story.[2][1] He hoped that Jarnathan would free them.[2][4] And he would, just not in the way that anyone expected. When Jarnathan entered, Edgin enacted his 'plan', with him and Holga fighting off the guards, grabbing the aarakocra, and jumping through the window,[2][3] forcing him to fly them to ice below. Jarnathan was knocked out by the hard landing, but survived.[2][6]

More than a year later, the same council met to consider Forge Fitzwilliam for pardon, but were wise to the same tricks and refused him. Forge also grabbed Jarnathan and tried to jump through the window, only to find it bricked up behind a curtain, stunning both himself and the poor aarakocra.[2]

Appendix[]

Background[]

Jarnathan is played by actor Clayton Grover.

A prop or costume of Jarnathan appeared at the Tavern display promoting the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie at the San Diego Comic-Con 2022, as seen here.

Notes[]

  1. It is unknown which settlement Jarnathan represents. Available options are Amphail, Longsaddle, Mirabar, Mithral Hall, Silverymoon, Waterdeep, and Yartar.
  2. The Honor Among Thieves movie and its tie-ins are as yet undated. As discussed here, from the condition of Castle Never and Dagult Neverember's reign, this wiki estimates a date of the late 1490s DR for the main events of the movie. Prequels and flashback scenes are set up to 11 years before this.
