The Jhansczil (pronounced: /ˈdʒɑːnszɪl/ JAN-ss-zil[3]) family was a significant member of the nobility of Waterdeep, first gaining nobility status in the Year of the Cockatrice, 1248 DR.[1] Like House Amcathra, House Roaringhorn, and House Ilzimmer, House Jhansczil's influence also reached out to the town of Amphail.[1]

The Jhansczil family thrived thanks to trading, mercenary fighting, and horse breeding.[3][1][2]

The family villa and main base was located in the Sea Ward.[4][5]
