Jhant Daxer was a tavern owner who inhabited the city of Waterdeep during the mid-to-late 14th century DR.[1][2]

Activities[]
Jhant assumed ownership of the popular tavern and festhall called the Gentle Mermaid in the North Ward when the previous owner died. Before that he was a momeylender and caravan owner in Baldur's Gate.[1] [2]
Rumors & Legends[]
Jhant was actually a front for Xanathar.[1] He smuggled, kidnapped, and performed all manner of illicit activities for the beholder, causing him to rarely be seen at the Gentle Mermaid.[2]
