The Keel Hall was a festhall located in the Central Port of Skullport during the 14th century DR.[1][2]

Structure[]

The Keel Hall was a two-story building in good condition. A walkway on the top floor connected the building with the neighboring Wheel Hall.[1]

Interior[]

The inside of the Keel Hall was distinguished by its nautical-themed décor. The establishment featured polished brass, ship wheels, and rigging, combined with gilt mirrors and tasseled velvet pillows in dark, somber hues. Despite these decorative efforts, the furniture in the common rooms was damp, and the interior carried a persistent mustiness.[1]

Services[]

In addition to its common areas, Keel Hall provided private rooms that could be rented for clandestine meetings at a rate of approximately three gp per hour or ten gp per night. These rooms were comparatively comfortable, featuring soundproofing to ensure discretion. Security measures included high-quality locks on the doors and shutters on both the interior and exterior of the windows.[1]

History[]

In 1370 DR, the owner of the Wheel Hall was Trenton Bartlowes.[1]. The hall was closed down after the Spellplague struck Toril in the Year of Blue Fire, 1385 DR, and never reopened its doors. In the following years, the abandoned building was used as a hideout by members of the Zhentarim.[2]

Defenses[]

The Keel Hall was designed with multiple concealed passages and trapdoors, enabling swift escape when necessary.[1]
