Keryvian is a mighty hand-and-a-half[1] broadsword[2] once carried by Fflar Starbrow Melruth.[3] Seiveril Miritar recovered it from the ruins of Myth Drannor and it was residing at Seamist in northern Evermeet where it decorated a wall for a time,[4] until Fflar was resurrected and took up the sword once more.[5]
Keryvian was crafted by the archmage, Demron, before the fall of Myth Drannor, and is considered the greatest of his series of Baneblades.[6] Keryvian's blade glows with a blue fire during battle,[7] and the hilt bears the likeness of a blue dragon with "teeth" clutching the blade. Only a capable warrior of good heart may take up Keryvian. Like all of the Baneblades of Demron, Keryvian, is a powerful magic sword that is imbued with holy energy and that is particularly effective against outsiders and undead.[8]
Keryvian also has the following properties:[8]
- A magically keen blade.
- Allows the wielder to jump great distances.
- Allows the wielder to fall gently from great heights.
- Allows the wielder to set a magic alarm to go off should someone get too close.
