Khalek was a prospector that lived in the Sword Coast North region of Faerûn during the late 15th century DR.[1]

The burly dwarf joined the expedition into Mount Hotenow led by Vandra of Clan Hillborn in order to investigate continued activity within the volcanic mountain.[1]

In the Year of the Ageless One, 1479 DR, Khalek and other dwarves working under the geologist Darney ventured into Shadowfire Cavern when their group was attacked and separated. Khalek returned into the cave to investigate the magma elemental they had found, but became trapped. Khalek was rescued by the Hero of Sleeping Dragon Bridge after the famed adventurer was enlisted to to aid Vandra Hillborn and her geological expedition.[1]
