It always received above-average yields from its crops and rarely suffered from serious diseases or pestilence.

There were theories among jealous outsiders that the villagers or their ancestors had made a pact with evil forces in order to ensure their prosperity, and that there must be a terrible price to be paid for this. In fact, the prosperity was thanks brownies living nearby, who aided the villagers by driving off pests and watering the crops and so on, in exchange for unlimited grain they took from the pueblo's store via a secret passage.
In the mid–14th century DR, the settlement was led by matriarch Lokoshin. The pueblo priest was Hopala, and the sunwatcher is Pokoso. The leader of the brownies that interacted with the settlement was Dubilitop.
