Krikendolt was an unusual barbazu in Avernus, first layer of the Nine Hells, in the late 15th century DR.[1]
History[]
During one of the many battles of the Blood War, a vrock hit Krikendolt's head, causing him a brain injury that unknown to everyone switched his alignment to chaotic good.[1]
In the Year of Twelve Warnings, 1494 DR,[note 1] Zariel ordered Krikendolt and four of his fellows to burn Avernus trees before they grew into thickets and blossomed with abyssal chicken. However, Krikendolt pitied the chickens and when his companions found about this, they started to pressure him to kill the chickens or face death.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus is set in 1492 DR per the "Baldur's Gate Gazetteer" section (p. 159) and a clarification from the adventure's lead writer. Baldur's Gate III, which is a direct sequel to Descent into Avernus set immediately after its events, is also set in 1492 DR. In an apparent error, pages 7 and 47 of Descent into Avernus describes certain events as occurring "fifty years" after 1444 DR (1494 DR).
