A leather ball was a sphere made out of strong, sturdy cowhide for the purposes of play[1] (such as handball[3]) or for use as a type of jugglable among bards and jugglers.[1][4]
Availability[]
- Anaster's Leatherworks, a leather goods business in the city of Ordulin.[1]
- Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue had an exclusive licensing deal with Anaster's Leatherworks to distribute their balls beyond the borders of Sembia. The catalogue advertised these as being among the most durable of balls on the market, made from soft and supple leathers. The balls on offer came in three sizes: 2‑inch (0.051‑meter) balls perfect for juggling at 1 silver piece, 4‑inch (0.1‑meter) handballs for 2 silver pieces, and a cloth-wrapped 12‑inch (0.3‑meter) ball for 2 gold pieces.[1] Additionally, in its "Bard's Emporium" section, the catalogue offered jugglable leather balls in sets of three for 5 silver pieces.[4]
- The Toysmiths, a toyshop in Ravens Bluff that was owned and operated by the gnome brothers Gunder and Relvan Gaewilder,[5] sold leather balls. They sold the same-sized balls as Aurora's and at the same prices, though additionally offered 8‑inch (0.2‑meter) balls at a price of 8 silver pieces.[2]
Notable Users[]
