Liber Occultatum was a recipe book that collected crafting instructions and arcane formulae needed to create several types of enchanted rogue armors, published sometime before the late 14th century DR.[1]

If this manual was in the hands of a skilled crafter of magical items, they could create several types of leather armor, provided they had proper materials for the crafting and enchanting process. Shadowy armor, improved shadowy armor , and greater shadowy armor required powerful water essence and a fire opal, star sapphire, and blue diamond, respectively, as well as the casting of an invisibility spell. Silent armor, improved silent armor, and greater silent armor required the same materials but with the casting of the silence spell. And lastly, quick armor could be created using weak power essence, weak air essence, a single blue diamond, and a casting of the haste spell.[2]

As of the Year of Lightning Storms, 1374 DR, copies of Liber Occultatum could be found across the Sword Coast, including the city of Neverwinter,[2] and in the city of Westgate on the Dragon Coast.[1]
