The Light and Darkness mantle was a psionic mantle that granted ardents and divine minds an array of psionics powers and abilities derived from the contrasting universal concepts of both light and darkness.[1]

A divine mind of the Light and Darkness mantle is never in want of illumination when exploring cavernous depths.
Those who followed the Light and Darkness mantle were granted either darkvision or low-light vision, out to a range of 60 feet (18 meters). If a manifester already had one of the two visions they would gain the other, but if they already possessed both types of vision then instead the distance by which they could perceive with both would be enhanced.[1]
The psychic aura exuded by divine minds of the Light and Darkness mantle made all darkness spells and light spells cast by the manifester, or allies within the radius of their aura, a degree higher in power for the purposes of countering their opposing effect.[2]
Powers[]
Novice manifesters could adjust ambient light levels with control light, modify their version with elfsight, or project beams of light from their own eyes with my light. Additionally, followers of the Light and Darkness mantle uniquely had the power to augment control light, allowing them to produce an effect similar to the spells daylight or darkness.[1]
Manifesters of some experience could create claws of shadowstuff with claws of darkness and fire offensive rays of darkness, light, or shadow with light beam. As a manifester progressed they gained the power to rapidly travel through the Shadow Fringe with psionic shadow walk. Masters of this mantle obtained light burst, allowing them to unleash bursts of blinding hot light.[1]
