This spell offered the caster, or anyone they touched during the casting, the ultimate protection against lightning or other attacks involving energy discharge. The caster was protected against both natural and magical lightning including magic missiles.[1][2]
Components[]
In addition to verbal and somatic components, this spell required as material components a drop of quicksilver and a shard of metal to cast.[1][2]
