The Locathah language was the language spoken by the locathah, a race of fish-like humanoids.[1][2][3]

Speakers[]

Beyond locathah themselves, Locathah was a common secondary language among koalinths,[4] merfolk,[5] sea elves of the Inner Sea and Outer Sea,[6] vodyanoi[7]

Some of the individual specialty priests of aquatic deities were known to learn various other aquatic languages, such as Locathah.[8][9][10] These included the sea druids of Deep Sashelas,[8] the waveservants of Umberlee,[9] and the waterwalkers of Istishia.[10] It was also a common secondary language among jungle druids, specialty priests in the Church of Ubtao, who sought to learn the exotic languages of the creatures that lived around the Chultan Peninsula.[11]

Derivative Languages[]

Serusan, a pidgin language used by the various aquatic races of Serôs, featured elements of the Locathah language.[12]
